❗USA plane crash: What we know so far.
Slightly past 6pm (USA time), on January 29th 2025, a mid-air collision occurred over Washington, D.C., involving American Eagle Flight 5342, a Bombardier CRJ-700, and a helicopter operated by the Metropolitan Police Department.
The incident took place near Ronald Reagan Washington National Airport, resulting in the aircraft crashing into the Potomac River. Emergency personnel responded promptly to the scene.
The airport has now been shut down.
The plane was carrying 64 people, only four have so far been rescued.
US Army says VH-60 Black Hawk helicopter which crashed in was carrying 3 personnel.
VH-60s are used for VIP transport.
There are fears that a top guy might've been onboard.
President Trump has been briefed about the incident.
